Occasionally, real gems of rare Pink Floyd pictures turn up in attics, scrapbooks and more. One such scrapbook has just revealed a lovely shot of the Syd Barrett-era band playing a cabaret show! "No one will like what we play", said a Floyd band member to the audience in resignation before the concert...

FURTHER UPDATE: three more pictures (one of Syd, one of Nick, and one band pose) have been unearthed by BD visitors!

It was September 10th, 1967, when Pink Floyd played at the Gyllene Cirkeln (Golden Circle) in Sveavägen in Stockholm. First on stage was Pink Floyd with their then state-of-the-art psychedelic light- and soundshow, followed by the Sleepstones. What happened to them, we don't know!

A couple of weeks earlier they had dropped out of the Swedish Tio i Topp (Top Ten) with See Emily Play, so were in the public's mind. The lightshow itself was run by three projectors.

Our thanks to Fredrik Johansson for unearthing this gem! We originally thought that there would be no other pictures from this concert, and indeed, looks like it was one of the diners who took this snap, in between courses...

But then, Theresa Northrop, Robin Kuosmanen and Stefano Tarquini got in contact with the following three pictures from the same show. Wonderful stuff - and if anyone else out there has rare early shots of the band that they'd like to share with the Floyd community, please get in contact!
