MAP Website: www.thsh.co.uk COMMENTS Due to the critical success of the four initial shows in May 2018, held in tiny venues in London's Camden and Putney, Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets announced a full European tour for September that year. The expanded shows for the full tour were even more highly acclaimed, and it came as no surprise when further dates for 2019 were announced. The insatiable demand for more dates, in more locations, has resulted in the band carrying on from where they left off, with shows for 2020 taking the music to new fans, as well as those who have already experienced the show, eager for more! Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets brings together some familiar names, all great musicians: joining Nick are Gary Kemp and Lee Harris on guitars, Guy Pratt on bass, and Dom Beken on keyboards. Kemp is best known for his work with Spandau Ballet, Harris as having played guitar with The Blockheads (Ian Dury's band), Pratt needs no introduction, and Beken is principally known for his work with The Orb, and Transit Kings (with Pratt). The band will be playing early Pink Floyd songs. This is a unique opportunity to experience Pink Floyd's celebrated and significant early body of work played live including songs from albums 'The Piper At The Gates of Dawn' and 'A Saucerful Of Secrets'. The regular sale of tickets starts on THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 19th 2019 at 10am (UK time), via this direct link at Seetickets.com, and the venues themselves. UPDATE, 2nd February 2021: Due to the COVID-19/Coronavirus pandemic, this concert, along with the others on the 2020/2021 tour, has been re-scheduled; tickets remain valid for the new date (shown in the title of this page) so there should be no need to contact the venue for clarification or to change the ticket.

CONCERT REVIEW by BD CONTRIBUTOR, David Bassett
After booking the tickets more than 2 years ago, finally got to see the band at The Symphony Hall in Birmingham, one of my favourite venues, with great sound quality.
I had seen them at The Roundhouse a few years ago, and whilst that was good, I think they have sharpened up their act considerably since. Main things I noted were:
Nick Mason is actually a very good drummer. He has never been much to the fore, and is naturally quite understated, but in a venue like the Symphony Hall, and with a bit more spotlight on him, you actually see and hear how good he is.
He talks well, and splits the evening up with the odd anecdote, his great grandfather being a former mayor of Birmingham, and how he likes to hit the gong in Set The Controls, as Roger would never let him.
The others chip in, all seem very relaxed. Gary Kemp is a better guitarist than I would have given him credit for. He said he loves everything about Birmingham, apart from Duran Duran.
The set list and performance was excellent. Good to hear some of the Obscured By Clouds material, although Childhood's End did not come across particularly well. I would have thought Free Four and Wot's Uh The Deal would be better choices. They do The Nile Song well, so Free Four should not be a problem for them. Nice concise versions of Atom Heart Mother and Echoes
Any criticisms? Not much at all. Gary Kemp has a slightly annoying habit of added extra syllables to words, high becomes high y high in Fearless for example. Can someone tell him to stop it? Only on a few songs so nothing too serious. Keyboards a little hard to hear at times, not sure if that is planned, or just on the night.
Overall, well worth seeing, and hope many BD readers get the chance to see them on tour.
