Tomorrow morning, during the UK's BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show, hosted by Chris Evans, there will be an exclusive world premiere of a track from Pink Floyd's upcoming album, The Endless River, it has been confirmed today. It will be the first time that most of us will hear a piece of music from the album in its entirety, as up to now, we've had to content ourselves with the three, 30 second pieces unveiled on the band's official Facebook page as well as their website. There's also a 10 second clip on the band's website.
As yet, there's been no confirmation as to what track is being played, although we would suspect that the sole non-instrumental on the album, Louder Than Words, would be a logical choice for a morning radio show. It is also not confirmed when the track will air - initial reports, following their tweet about the exclusive, suggested it would be 8:15am, but the show runs from 6:30am-9:30am so might be at any point during the broadcast.
UPDATE: We've just heard that in the US, radio station Q104.3FM will similarly be airing a track - again, which one is not specified - at 10am EST tomorrow (Thursday). We've also heard from Steve in New Zealand - The Sound in NZ are airing Louder Than Words (we were right over the choice of track!) in their breakfast show, between 6am-9am NZ time.
For those who missed the broadcast, it was indeed Louder Than Words that was aired. We hope that all of you who have heard the song share your views on it over at our Facebook page! As the first proper taste of the album itself, did you enjoy it?
Advance orders for the album in its various forms seem strong, and should you be keen on adding it to your collection on release, it might be worth getting your pre-order in now.
