Guitarist Dave Kilminster, currently touring with Roger Waters "The Wall Live" which has just finished a 56-date run in North America, is to play some special US dates in early 2011 with vocalist extraordinaire Murray Hockridge, whose emotive, soulful voice spans an incredible three and a half octaves.
Clearly not relishing the break that the Wall tour is taking (it restarts on March 21st in Portugal) Dave and Murray will be performing music from their forthcoming album 'Closer To Earth', a collection of vocal and acoustic guitar interpretations of 11 rock and soul classics. The live sets will also include original material from both artistes' repertoires.
The preliminary dates (there are more to be added) are as follows:
- Friday 28 January - KJ Farrell's, Bellmore, NY
A double-bill also featuring the popular Wonderous-Stories in one of the newest and best clubs on Long Island
- Saturday, 29 January - Havana, New Hope, Pennsylvania
This will be a late afternoon (5pm) show – mark your calendars to see Kilminster's guitar work up close and hear the vocals of Murray Hockridge in a club that has become a showcase for performers
- Look for a special return to KJ Farrell's with Kenny Forgione in a unique and unusual setting
- Wednesday, 2 February - BB King's, NYC in a double bill with Wonderous Stories
BB King's is a NYC favourite – featuring music of all kinds. Fans of Dave Kilminster will remember seeing him in the US with Keith Emerson playing at the club at both Moogfest and with the Keith Emerson Band. Wonderous Stories remains one of the club's guaranteed sell-outs, so get your tickets early when they go on sale. The atmosphere is great and the music will be tremendous and full of surprises.
