Next week, the NBC television show "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" is to celebrate Pink Floyd, coinciding with the launch of the extensive catalogue reissue, remaster and rarities programme. The week-long schedule should provide a number of unmissable things for the band's fans, including Roger Waters taking the stage with the Foo Fighters for a rendition of "In The Flesh". Roger is also due to be interviewed, as is Nick Mason.
The show, which airs Monday to Friday at 12:35am (ET)/11:35pm (CT) has had week-long celebrations in the past. Last year, the Rolling Stones got their chance, and earlier this year, so did Bob Marley. Roger took part in a rare interview with Jimmy back on May 5th, 2010, so he is no stranger to the show.
The full, day-by-day schedule is as follows:
- Monday, September 26th: The Shins will perform "Breathe" from "The Dark Side of the Moon" and will be the band's first TV appearance in four years. Nick Mason is stopping by for an interview with Fallon.
- Tuesday, September 27th: Roger Waters is teaming up with Foo Fighters (for the first time ever) to perform "In the Flesh" from "The Wall". Fallon will also interview Roger during the show.
- Wednesday, September 28th: MGMT will perform the early Floyd track, "Lucifer Sam" from 1967's "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn".
- Thursday, September 29th: "Late Night" will go country when popular country performer Dierks Bentley takes on the Floyd classic, "Wish You Were Here".
- Friday, September 30th: Pearl Jam will conclude the week with their take on "Mother" from "The Wall".
