Back in March 2007, we brought you the news of the Roger Waters single and promo video, which was taken from the movie The Last Mimzy. Whilst the song, "Hello (I Love You)", appears on the soundtrack album, there was also a CD single released with two versions of the track. A 12" limited audiophile version was released later that year, through our friends at Tonefloat but now, for all you vinyl junkies out there, Record Store Day 2014 in the UK gives a special chance to get the exclusive 10" vinyl edition - for one day only: April 19th, 2014!
The song itself was the theme music to the movie, and Roger said at the time: "I think together we've come up with a song that captures the themes of
the movie - the clash between humanity's best and worst instincts, and how a child's innocence can win the day." With production by long-time Pink Floyd producer James Guthrie, there are many references to Roger's past work.
Record Store Day takes place across many countries, celebrating the work of small, independent shops with a range of one-day-only special releases, unavailable elsewhere and while stocks last. Different countries have different releases, and as far as we can tell, this Roger Waters single will ONLY be in the participating UK stores on April 19th. Naturally, most if not all the RSD releases almost instantly appear on eBay.co.uk and other eBay outlets, so if you are unable to make it along to your local vinyl emporium, you have another opportunity to add this to your collection. The picture to the right is from the 2007 release, and the 2014 Record Store Day exclusive MAY have a different cover - they've not revealed the packaging yet.
The soundtrack album for the movie, which includes Roger's new song, can still be ordered through our special Amazon links: US/International, UK/Europe, Canada, France or Germany.
All purchases made at Amazon after going in using our links, help with
the running costs of this site and we thank you for this!
