As part of the celebrations that will no doubt take place throughout the year, to mark the 30th anniversary of Pink Floyd's classic album The Wall, comes a special performance in Prague.
Regrettably, the concert form of The Wall (in 1980 and 1981) was seen just in four cities (London, Los Angeles, New York, and Dortmund) because of its exacting presentation and organization. Almost 30 years later, Filip Benesovský brings what is looking to be a spectacular project, aiming to recreate those original shows. Taking place at the O2 Arena in Prague, on October 31st, it will feature a band of 20 musicians (including Czech rock star Radim Hladík), playing not only modern electric instruments, but also strings and brass. Alongside them will be a childrens choir.
The performance will include quadrophonic sound, giant breeze-blocks, many stage properties, film shots, Czech titles and some surprises. More information at www.TheWall2009.cz, and tickets are on sale now through www.sazkaticket.cz.
