The Night Of WondersThe Floydseum, a group of Pink Floyd enthusiasts, collectors and experts, have just announced an exhibition - The Night Of Wonders - to celebrate the 1989 Floyd concert held in Venice in front of a local audience of over 250,000, and an international TV audience of over 100 million.

Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the show, the opening of the exhibition - at Spazio Porto, the former church of Santa Marta in Venice, Italy - has a few special events to kick things off. In itself, the exhibition offers rare photos, videos and collectibles relating to this concert, but the organisers have lined up some interesting events on July 9th and July 12th.

On the 9th at 6pm, at the Sala Apollinea Grande, Teatro La Fenice, a press conference for the exhibition leads an evening focused on (curiously) not the 1989 concert, but the Roger Waters opera, Ca Ira. Adrian Maben's film of Roger's work, showing the making of the suite, and the evening concludes with extracts from the 2006 Poznan performance of Ca Ira.

Then, at the weekend, Saturday 12th July, the exhibition opens to the public at midday. This is followed by a talk from Fran Tomasi, promoter of the Floyd concert in the lagoon in front of St Mark's Square 25 years before, and one of the driving forces behind The Pink Floyd Exhibition - Their Mortal Remains.
