Just published is a new video, showing an edit of Jill Furmanovsky in conversation with Storm Thorgerson from the nice people at Rockarchive. For those who need reminding, Jill is one of the world’s top rock photographers, and first took pictures of Pink Floyd back in January 1972, when she was backstage at the Floyd’s Brighton Dome concert. Since then she spent time with them on the road in the 1970s, taking many iconic and also endearing shots. Her stunning picture of David Gilmour on top of The Wall in New York in 1980, grainy and black and white, is the defining image from those concerts. A few years ago, she sat down with Storm to ask him about his various covers for the band, and you can see the result now:

For those visiting London, Rockarchive have announced a photography exhibition, named after Jill Furmanovsky's book The Moment, published 20 years ago, about the art of rock photography, between Saturday, May 16th - Thursday, June 4th, 2015.

The exhibition features images of many of the artists who have performed at the Royal Albert Hall, taken by some of the world's leading music photographers. Many of the images, signed by both the photographer and the stars they feature, will be up for auction on the opening day (May 16th) at a special launch event. The exhibition can be viewed when attending performances at the Royal Albert Hall, or on the following free open days: Saturday May 16th, 11am - 4pm; Sunday May 17th 11am - 4pm; Saturday May 23rd 11am - 4pm; Saturday May 30th 11am - 4pm. Entry is free - enter through door 12.
