The mystery is solved; Roger waters has now revealed the venue for the Athens, Greece Wall concert on July 31st, 2013. The concert will be held at the Athens Olympic Stadium Spyros Louis (or in Greek, Olympiako Stadio Athinas or simply OAKA) which was originally built in 1979, and renovated in time for the 2004 Olympic Games. It has a maximum capacity of 82,662 for concerts, but with the size of the staging, the figure is more likely to be around the 70,000 mark.
Gates open at 5:30pm, and the show starts at 9:30pm. Tickets for the concert go on sale tomorrow (Friday) through the official agents, Ticketpro.gr.
In terms of ticket prices, these are at a lower price than other European venues, no doubt due to the current economic conditions in the country. There are two standing areas on the pitch, along with two differently priced categories in the seating. Tickets are priced at €59 and €40 (although for the unemployed, the rear standing area is just €28). A seating/price chart can be seen here.
Our thanks to George Kargiolakis for his help with this info...
