Our friends in Italy, no doubt excited by the prospects of The Pink Floyd Exhibition - Their Mortal Remains in Milan, from September 19th, have another, much sooner opportunity to dive into the world of the Floyd next month with a special two-day event organised by Floyd specialists The Lunatics.
At the end of March, on the 29th and 30th, the Hotel Atlantic Borgaro in the town of Borgaro Torinese, near Turin, hosts Pink Floyd Storie e Segreti in Mostra, an exhibition of rarities and collectables in the presence of film director Adrian Maben, best known by Floyd fans for Live At Pompeii.
The exhibition, which opens at 3pm on Saturday 29th March, will feature hundreds of original historical documents relating to the band. These will range from the hardest to find posters to vintage handbills, from the tour programs to the most amazing memorabilia, and a selection of the rarest records from the private collection of the Lunatics, five of the biggest Floyd historians and collectors in Italy. That evening, Turin tribute band Time Machine will perform a three-hour show.
On Sunday, 30th March, at 3pm, Adrian Maben will be the special guest, interviewed by Riccardo Bertoncelli, alongside projections and open discussion to relive the history, trivia and a look behind the scenes of Pompeii. There will also be the opportunity for audience members to ask questions too. More details can be found at storieesegretiinmostra.it.
