Many congratulations to the triumvirate of Pink Floyd related releases for the 2024 Record Store Day. The annual event celebrates the work of independent record stores, and sees a few hundred different exclusive releases and editions. Before the day, pre-orders are not permitted, and on the day (this year, on April 12th) potential purchasers need to queue at their nearest participating store. Once at the counter, they can buy as many different titles as they wish, but they can only have ONE copy of each different title.
As with conventional releases, they are eligible for chart placings, and the releases from Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets (with Echoes), David Gilmour with Romany Gilmour (with Between Two Points), and Roger Waters (with the live Redux of The Dark Side Of The Moon) all feature very healthily in the UK charts!

Of the three releases, the Saucers release was the hardest for people to get their hands on, and with the number of major artists releasing special titles on Record Store Day, there's a lot of competition for chart places, so to go in at number 6 in the physical and vinyl singles charts is a great achievement. David and Romany's release is also selling strongly still, as remaining copies are available online now from the stores. As for Roger's, slightly lower placing than we'd expect, although all of those who bought the recent deluxe box set will have had the live version already, which might have informed purchasing choices on the day. Congratulations again to all three for these releases!
