The new issue of the UK's Mojo Magazine (cover date July 2018, issue number 296) includes a major feature on Pink Floyd, as well as the new endeavour (which kicks off this weekend in London), Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets.
The magazine headlines the feature looking at their reckoning of 'The 50 Greatest Pink Floyd Songs' (always a contentious concept), which they call "a celebration of their works from Walk With Me Sydney to The Endless River and all points between".
More interestingly, they have "an exclusive interview with Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets, the Floyd drummer’s unexpected live reincarnation of the Syd Barrett-era band. Enhance your psychedelic mood with Mojo's covermount CD: Bright Ambassadors Of Morning – a collection of mind-altering music from the past and present, featuring The Flaming Lips, James Holden, Phil Manzanera, Todd Rundgren, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith and more."
Elsewhere in the magazine, amongst a wide range of other things, there's an interview with Patti Smith on the eve of her UK tour, a rare full-career rundown with Can man Damo Suzuki, and a look at Paul Simon's life-changing spells in the UK, 1963-65.
The magazine will be in UK stores from Tuesday, and will be available in selected locations worldwide as an import, in due course. When buying it, you'll have to make a decision - which cover do you want? As you can see from the image to the right, there are two to choose from (subject to availability, of course): Cover 1, celebrating the Syd Barrett line-up of the band; and Cover 2, featuring David Gilmour, Roger Waters, Rick Wright and Nick Mason.
