Over the course of three days, In The City combines a daytime hub of industry debate with a city-wide live festival, gathering the music industry in Manchester and providing a discussion forum, while showing the public and industry alike some emerging muiscal artistes. Taking part between October 13th-15th, 2010, the event includes one session that Pink Floyd fans will find very interesting indeed...
Nick Mason will be giving an artist keynote interview, in light of both his time with Pink Floyd, and as a driving force behind the formation of FAC, an organization committed to the protection of performers' and musicians' rights. Some of the subjects that Nick Mason and interviewer Jeremy Silver aim to cover during their conversation will include the early days of Pink Floyd, the band's evolution into one of the world's biggest acts and how Nick became involved with the FAC. They will also examine what the FAC does and the many challenges facing artists today.
Delegate passes aren't cheap, at £200 (plus VAT) but include full access to the conference and priority to the In The City live events. More info at InTheCity.co.uk. Our thanks to David Metcalfe for the info.
