The recently released documentary "Monty Python - Almost The Truth (The Lawyers Cut)", celebrates the British comedy troup's 40th birthday, blending brand new interviews with the surviving members, along with clips from the TV shows, the movies, and from live performances. The complete six hour TV series, directed by Alan Parker, is expanded with even more material - the 3xDVD and 2xBluray sets include additional interviews, sketches, images and more.
Of interest to Pink Floyd fans (and we suspect there are many who are joint Floyd/Python fans!) is the appearance of Nick Mason in episodes two and four, talking of how "[Monty Python] were anti-establishment, but not... I mean... A lot of the jokes were again this thing about becoming a little bit more, not abstract, but the sort of madness of it." Nick also talks of how the band helped fund the making of Holy Grail, and also of his love of "The Lumberjack Song" - "it's a great song perfect for live performances."
