Just published in the UK, exclusively for the WHSmith chain of high street stores, is The Legend Of Pink Floyd. This 98-page softback book is priced at £5.99, is part of a series of books about different musical artists, and should be found instore amongst the music related magazines. We've checked with WHSmith and they will not be selling this online - just instore. You may be able to secure a copy on eBay if you decide you'd like this publication.
With text written by an M. Clayton, the book's real focus are the pictures which appear throughout. Each page features one or more archive shot, printed on decent paper, and on the whole are in the right place chronologically, and much of the text is accurate.
Whilst some aspects of the band's history are sped through, and some eras get extra attention due no doubt to the photos they had available to them, on the whole the book provides a diverting look through their history. There are some rather odd inclusions in places, and some of the text passages focus on unexpected facets, but nevertheless we know some of you will make efforts to track this down soon.
