Due for publication in May 2020 (a revised publication date from the originally quoted September 2019) is a new book about the band: Pink Floyd Scandinavia 1967 – 1972. Immediately after Pink Floyd's debut album The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, Pink Floyd went to Aarhus, Stockholm and Copenhagen on their first tour outside Britain. With their cutting-edge psychedelic music and shows they created something completely new and exciting wherever they went. This book follows them on their early tours in Scandinavia at humble venues to their return in the following years as they rose to become one of the biggest rock acts in the world. Created by the Unseen Nordic Archives, the 176 page book promises an extraordinary collection of unknown and rarely seen photos from these tours - more than 200 pictures in total - added with new interviews from many of the key people involved and newspaper articles from local Danish and Swedish papers at the time. The Unseen Nordic Archive series of books enjoy access to an archive of over 500,000 images from Scandinavian photographers and newly researched interview material from the people who were there. Certainly sounds very interesting; we should have more about this in due course, and hopefully will be reviewing it too. In the meantime, the various European Amazon stores are offering the book as a pre-order, through these links: Amazon UK, Amazon France, Amazon Germany, Amazon Spain and Amazon Italy. Should you nearest Amazon store not have this book on offer, feel free to use an alternative one as they all ship books internationally. UPDATE: Due to unforeseen circumstances the book has been delayed, but the publishers are hoping it will be available in the autumn of 2020 (so, presumably around October). We will keep you posted about this book.
