If a recent interview (published today) with John Lydon (better known to many as Johnny Rotten) for the Quietus website and their sister paper The Stool Pigeon is to be believed, the former lead singer of The Sex Pistols is keen to re-record a new version of The Dark Side Of The Moon with Roger Waters or the other surviving members of Pink Floyd.
In the interview, he revealed that he came very close to performing part of the album with Roger during Roger's LA show in 2008.
Despite notoriety for wearing a "I Hate Pink Floyd" t-shirt on stage [right], he came clean in typical forthright style: "Listen, you'd have to be daft as a brush to say you didn't like Pink Floyd. They've done great stuff. They've done rubbish too. Dark Side of the Moon I love. But I go right back to when they were with Syd Barrett. But I grew up with all kinds of music".
The grilling of John about his love of Pink Floyd, and his relationship with Roger Waters and David Gilmour, can be read in full at TheQuietus.com. The full John Lydon interview will be published there next week, and will be available in The Stool Pigeon which can be obtained from selected stockists.
