pigs might flyOur friend Mark Blake's recently published book, "Comfortably Numb: The Inside Story Of Pink Floyd" (titled "Pigs Might Fly" in the UK) has been very well received by the Floyd community.

Drawing on his own interviews with all of the band members, plus almost a hundred new interviews with the group's friends, road crew, producers, designers, former housemates and others, the book is from our perspective, an incredibly detailed, and essential, look at the band's history. Our review, and ordering information, here.

Mark recently ran a contest to give away ten signed copies of the US edition, via his website, and we know that many of those who entered are Brain Damage regulars! Did you win? Read on to find out the lucky winners' names...

To enter the contest, you had to go to his website - www.markrblake.com - and sign-up to the free mailing list to enter. Members enjoy free entry to draws and competitions and receive regular updates on Mark Blake's new books, articles, events and news. Exclusive extracts from the book will also be posted there soon.

Mark is a key member of the Mojo Magazine team and has written a number of excellent articles and interviews with the various band members over the years. His enthusiasm and knowledge of his subject comes across well, and this is reflected in Comfortably Numb/Pigs Might Fly.

So, are you one of the following winners?

  • Christian Bobocea
  • Dan Myers
  • Emilie Watts
  • Graeme Walford
  • Bill Harris
  • Paul Trotman
  • Stuart Barstow
  • Sally Spong
  • Russell Gillett
  • Barry Ratcliffe

Congratulations to these lucky people, and commiserations to those who weren't so lucky. The book can be ordered from Amazon UK, Amazon.com (US), Amazon Canada, Amazon Germany, or Amazon France. Just to remind you, orders of ANY items bought at Amazon after entering their stores through our special links help towards the running costs of this site, and we really appreciate it!
