The ever-fascinating UK magazine Record Collector has an unmissable article in the new edition (issue 417, dated August 2013), which is due to arrive in UK stores on July 18th.
Highlight of the magazine is a six-page feature on pre-EMI Pink Floyd acetates, with help from BD contributor Herve Denoyelle, an interview with Nick Mason, a review of the three acetates which were discovered, an interview with producer Joe Boyd and a discography of Pink Floyd's UK rarities.
There's also a news item on Ron Geesin's upcoming book, The Flaming Cow including photos of Ron from 1971 and one of Ron and his son Dan Geesin constructing the cow which was to be incinerated for the cover of the book!
Elsewhere in the magazine are features on The Pretty Things, Brian May and Tangerine Dream.
Our thanks to Ron's son, Joe Geesin, for the information and cover shot. The magazine will appear in all good UK stores this coming week, will be available worldwide in
selected outlets shortly as an import, and will also be available online here.
