Yesterday, David Gilmour opened a new music school at Brighton College, in the English south coast city, as reported by the local newspaper The Argus, and the Old Brightonians website from whom the picture of David to the right came from.
David, on guitar and accompanied by Guy Pratt on bass, and by 17-year-old pupil Alex Sansbury on drums, started by performing Wish You Were Here to a thrilled audience, of invited guests, parents and pupils. He then went on to play Rattle That Lock, using the college's chamber choir as backing.
The event was the official opening of the College's brand new music school, designed by world-renowned Eric Parry Architects. Director of music at the college Sandy Chenery told the Argus: "I think everyone felt watching David Gilmour live in such a wonderful setting was a very special moment. It marks the end of a long period of hard work by so many people to create a space that is breathtakingly beautiful."
