David Gilmour, recording The Division Bell on AstoriaThe announcement of Pink Floyd's new album, The Endless River, has resulted in the inevitable flurry of discussion and rumour, all trying to elaborate on the official 75 word statement that was put out on the Floyd's social media platforms and website.

The album, which is due in October 2014, consists "of mainly ambient and instrumental music based on the 1993/4 Division Bell sessions which feature David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright." Despite this, in some quarters people have speculated that: Roger Waters could appear on it (absolutely not), it is entirely new music just by David and Nick and therefore cannot be considered Pink Floyd without Richard being on there (absolutely not) and that they will tour it (again, absolutely not). There are also fake images flying around proporting to show things like the tracklisting, and cover artwork, despite these being created by fans, and some people have assumed that these are leaked images.

The latest story appears on the Ultimate Classic Rock website where they state Graham Nash and David Crosby are guesting on the album. This story has been picked up by other media and is spreading quickly. However, a source close to Pink Floyd has told us that Crosby and Nash are singing on a solo Gilmour track, NOT on The Endless River. Their contribution continues their working partnership with Gilmour on his solo work that began with the 2006 On An Island project, with the pair not just appearing on that album, but guesting at a number of concerts on the tour that year as well. UCRs assertion that Crosby and Nash would be on The Endless River has caused some concern amongst fans, so we're happy to be able to set your minds at rest that their story is incorrect.
