Available from March 16th (the UK release date of the album), and tying in with the 50th Anniversary of Pink Floyd's The Dark Side Of The Moon, is a rather unusual item from Abbey Road Studios.
Earlier this month we told you about their exclusive Pink Floyd 1973 Collection, featuring various t-shirts (short and long sleeve), hats, hoodies and bags. Added to this is a "unique replica print of the session sheet created for the recording of what would become the band's seminal album, The Dark Side Of The Moon, recorded at Abbey Road between 30 May 1972 – 9 February 1973. This sheet is an exact replica of the original, which has been held within the Abbey Road archives for 50 years unseen by the public and indeed, Pink Floyd, until now.
"This session sheet is dated 30 May 1972 'onwards', highlighting the set-up that was used on the very first studio session for the album, a set-up that would remain as the default for much of the album's subsequent Studio Three sessions with recording engineer Alan Parsons. Each replica sheet comes with a certificate of authenticity and an annotation giving insight into personnel, effects and equipment used during the sessions."
Orders for this item are now being taken via shop.AbbeyRoad.com and once published, we suspect copies will also be available from Abbey Road's gift shop in London.
