Recently published is the large format, paperback book "Outside The Wall" commemorating the Italian exhibition of the same name held back in 2013.
The exhibition, staged by the Floydseum Cultural Association (the publishers of the book) was the largest show ever devoted entirely to the record, film and live performances of "The Wall". This new book, over 100 pages in full colour, looks back at that event (which included a poster specially drawn by Gerald Scarfe) and offers photos of rare items that were on display, along with interviews with Roger Waters, Gerald Scarfe, David Appleby and memories of the live performances of "The Wall" (1980 to 2013), spectacles that entered into rock history.
The interview with Scarfe is from his attendance at the exhibition; the Waters interview is a transcript of an older chat with Jim Ladd about The Wall. There's a detailed look at the 1980/81 concerts, at the Berlin 1990 extravaganza, the 2010-13 Waters tour, and a range of David Appleby's behind the scenes shots taken during the making of the film.
Whilst all the written content is in Italian, the book has an absolute wealth of shots (mostly taken whilst the items were in situ at the exhibition) of original memorabilia, animation cels, concert pictures and more. For collectors, irrespective of your ability to read Italian, there is plenty to enjoy in the book, a taste of the Floydseum exhibition almost five years ago.
The book is available to order online via the Floydseum store.
