Just a couple of news bits for you this weekend... one relating to David Gilmour and an upcoming concert he is taking part in, and the other, a brief comment from Roger Waters about his forthcoming opera.

First, a very happy birthday, David Gilmour - 58 today! Our hearty congratulations and many happy returns to you!

EMKA (the Floyd's management) have updated us on a few things, including what David is due to play at the forthcoming Jools Holland charity show at the Royal Albert Hall: "I Put A Spell On You" with Mica Paris - which they have performed together before at various times... not a huge surprise but a shame he's not playing more. Thanks to EMKA for the updates.

In other news, Roger Waters, quoted assessing his chances with his forthcoming opera, Ca Ira, on Classic FM: "People will think I'm banal, inept and a charlatan..."
