Visitors to a Los Angeles art gallery this autumn will be in the running to win a one-off airbrushed car or Les Paul guitar, as part of Pink Floyd's 40th anniversary celebrations.
Storm Thorgerson, who designed most of Pink Floyd's iconic album art, will premiere a new exhibition of his work and launch not one, but two books at Los Angeles' Mr Musichead Rock Art Gallery in October.
Mr Musichead proprietor Sam Milgrom says, "We'll be airbrushing Pink Floyd album cover art by Storm all over a 2007 hybrid, and outfitting the vehicle with a Bose sound system." The car will then be given away to one very lucky fan.
A Les Paul guitar will also be airbrushed and given away as part of the exhibition.
Apart from the 40th anniversary celebrations, the event also ties in with the US release of Storm's new book, "Taken By Storm" (published on September 14th - advance orders, with a discount, through this link), and a reissue of "Mind Over Matter - The Images of Pink Floyd" (also September 14th, order through this link).
The new edition of "Mind Over Matter" will have a new cover and 32 additional pages with more recent Floyd artwork, including some previously unseen by the public. A UK/European publication of this new edition will follow on October 9th. Full ordering details for ALL regions below.
Mr Musichead Rock Art Gallery can be found at 7517 W Sunset Boulevard, in Los Angeles, California - visit www.mrmusichead.com for more details and directions.
