British newspapers The Times and The Sun, both part of the News International company, are currently offering a rare 1967 shot of Pink Floyd through their photosales department - and are offering it at half price for a limited time, as a special offer!
The shot is from an early rehearsal session held in Mike Leonard's house. For a while, the band stayed with Mike, and indeed one of their early names before settling on Pink Floyd, was Leonard's Lodgers! Mike used to experiment with lighting effects while they played, and he was featured on BBC TV's Tomorrow's World in 1967 showing off his revolutionary equipment, as the band improvised in the background.
It is a rare chance to obtain a shot of the Syd Barrett-era band. The picture is in black and white, and is on glossy photo paper. It is a good, clear, sharp copy of an original photograph taken at the time.
They offer a range of sizes, and even the opportunity to have the picture on mugs, drink coasters, mousemats and poster sized prints! The basic 12 inch x 8 inch picture is sent free of postage charges to UK addresses; they will send all over the world though. More details can be found at Timesonline.co.uk/photosales.
