Brain Damage and A Fleeting Glimpse

Pink Floyd 1987WELCOME TO THE 26th YEAR OF BRAIN DAMAGE, YOUR PINK FLOYD, DAVID GILMOUR, NICK MASON, SYD BARRETT, RICHARD WRIGHT AND ROGER WATERS NEWS RESOURCE!

It's 2025! This year sees the 50th anniversary of Wish You Were Here, which is an incredible thought; where does the time go?!

We now know that Pink Floyd At Pompeii MCMLXXII on Blu-ray, 2CD, 2LP, DVD, digital and cinema screenings are on their way, with the releases on May 2nd, and the cinema screenings shortly before. NOT to be missed!

There's also been three Record Store Day releases released on April 12th, from David Gilmour, Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets, and Roger Waters which are also definitely worth tracking down, either in a participating store, or online, now that RSD has finished.

Last year, David Gilmour's superb new album, Luck and Strange, was released in a variety of formats, and a selection of coloured vinyls. A limited number of concert dates thrilled crowds in Brighton and London, England, Rome, Italy, and Los Angeles and New York, USA. Rome shows were filmed for release at some point...watch this space!

The Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets 2024 Set The Controls tour revealed a band in even better form than the 2022/23 shows which managed to exceed everyone's hopes and expectations! Our sincerest hopes are that they continue, but in the meantime, there's the RSD release, and the earlier live recording from London's Roundhouse on Blu-ray, DVD/2CD, and 2LP which is really excellent.

Of course, Roger Waters read three extracts from his memoirs in October 2023 at the London Palladium, so it might not be too long before that is published...he's also working on his new album based around The Bar - we'll let you know as soon as we get all the info!

The last brick falls... Roger Waters The Wall Live ends Print E-mail

Roger Waters, Paris 2013 - the final bricks had fallenWell, the 2013 Roger Waters The Wall Live tour had to finish somewhere, and it would be hard to argue that the Stade de France in the north of Paris on Saturday night didn't make the most of such a momentous show.

From the bouyant atmosphere felt on the public transport approaching the stadium, to the joy and anticipation clear on the faces of those walking up to, and into, the Stade, to the 80,000 crammed into the venue and making the most of this final concert, Roger and the band couldn't have wished for a better conclusion! Even Nick Mason travelled to Paris for the performance - clearly not wishing to miss such a show.

Musically and visually, the show went without a hitch, with Roger clearly feeling quite emotional - he didn't really seem to want to leave the stage for the last time, on the warm Parisian night. Followers of our Facebook page were able to (when the phone network in the stadium allowed!) see pictures from the show throughout the evening. We hope you enjoyed them. Our review of the show, more (and better) pictures, and video clips, will follow as normal on the showpage.

If you've been to any of the shows since September 2010, we hope you had a good time. If you didn't manage to, we hope our coverage of the 219 shows has given you at the very least a taste of what The Wall meant to people. Hopefully now it will be all systems go to get the DVD of the show complete!
