The funeral of Roger Keith "Syd"
Barrett took place in Cambridge yesterday in a peaceful, private family
ceremony at Cambridge Crematorium.

Cambridge Evening News |
The founder member of Pink Floyd,
who wrote much of their early music and lyrics, passed away on Friday,
July 7th, and the news of his passing has hit his friends and music
fans worldwide hard.
The Cambridge Evening News reported from the
ceremony, and noted that around a dozen members of his family joined
his closest friends for the service.
As noted previously, no members of Pink Floyd were present.
Amongst the most poignant
tributes were floral wreathes from his neighbours and friends in the
area he lived in.
A popular man, he would thrill local children with
his infectious sense of fun and wordplay that kept them wrapt, revealed
by his sister Rosemary in an interview last week for The Sunday Times.
Until his passing, he lived the remainder of his days in his late mother's semi-detached house in a quiet area of Cambridge.
Our thanks to Wendy and Freddy Bannister for their help.
