Further to the story we brought you back on November 21st about the discovery of the "holy grail" of early Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd television footage, the band's performances of "See Emily Play" on the BBC's Top Of The Pops weekly music programme [right], we have a couple of small updates for you.
First, a set of around fifteen (albeit small) stills from the band's performance have been included in the new issue of Mojo magazine (see earlier story) which give a flavour of what the footage has to offer. There's also a shot of the tape itself which is in abysmal condition, so it is miraculous that this one-inch, reel-to-reel tape, discovered in a private collection, has revealed such a gem.
Secondly, as we noted before, plans are now being drawn up to include the Top Of The Pops footage in a special screening event at the BFI Southbank in London. The Missing Believed Wiped event is due to take place on January 9th. Ticketing details aren't yet available, but will no doubt be extremely sought after!
