Roger Waters - The WallJust announced by Picturehouse Entertainment and Fathom Events are a number of special screenings of the film Roger Waters The Wall, written and directed by Roger Waters and Sean Evans.

The film, with an exclusive "in conversation" with Roger Waters which we understand may be a pre-recorded item, rather than a live Q&A, will be screened in participating cinemas across the world at 7.30pm local time on Tuesday, September 29th this year. More information and tickets will be available this summer at www.roger-waters.com. We will also keep you posted on developments with this set of screenings.

The film had its World Premiere at last year’s Toronto Film Festival - which we reported on in detail - is an event film that unfolds on many levels – as an immersive concert experience of the classic Pink Floyd album, a road movie of Waters' reckoning with the past and as an anti-war film, highlighting the human cost of conflict.

The film was shot in 4K and mixed in Dolby Atmos during the 2010-2013 tour, seen by over 1.5 million fans across North America, 1 million fans across Latin and Central America and 1 million fans across Europe - over 4 million fans worldwide, and the biggest worldwide tour by a solo artist, ever.

Beyond the outstanding music, Waters continues to reflect on the impact of war on his own family as he embarks on a deeply personal pilgrimage. Woven throughout the film, the journey offers a revealing, candid portrait of a man who has been through enough, and lived in the world long enough, to be passionately and unapologetically anti-war.

Roger Waters said: "We were a big family on the road, 189 of us, give or take the odd Snoozy Walrus. We were happy by and large and I am really happy to welcome everyone at Fathom and Picturehouse aboard, I know, I know, mixing metaphors. Where was I? Oh yeah, with your help, this coming 29th September will be the perfect way to remember, not just our loved ones, but the other guys loved ones, fallen, living, and as yet unborn."

As yet, there are no details of which cinemas will be participating, nor is there any news at this stage of a domestic release of the film on DVD or Blu-ray.
