Now out are the various iterations of Roger Waters The Wall - Roger's highly anticipated movie of his Wall tour, which ran from 2010-2013, coupled with footage of his "road trip", visiting sites and areas where his father and grandfather fought and died. For those who are yet to see it, below is a sneak peak at what the video formats offer, with an exclusive time lapse video from the Buenos Aires performances, showing just how much effort is made in the construction of staging for an event like this.
As a reminder, Roger Waters The Wall was released in mid November as a digital download, as a DVD, a Blu-ray, and a 2-disc Blu-ray special edition. The physical editions are now available to order through selected outlets. The DVD, Blu-Ray and Digital Download releases feature bonus footage of Roger Waters visiting the grave of poet and soldier, Frank Thompson, who lost his life during the Second World War. The 2-disc Blu-Ray Special Edition features over 95 minutes of bonus footage, including the unforgettable moment in May 2011 when Roger Waters was joined on stage by David Gilmour and Nick Mason at London's O2 Arena in a performance of Comfortably Numb and Outside The Wall (Nick only appearing on the latter), as well as driving outtakes from the road movie, art cards, a poster and booklet. There is also an audio release: an album of Roger Waters The Wall on triple vinyl (3LP) or double CD, via Sony Music. For those with a healthier bank balance, there is also the Super Deluxe Edition, which is limited to 3000 signed copies, exclusively from Roger's online store at $500 plus tax, shipping, and - for some - import duties as it is shipped from the US. This includes some extra items, currently unavailable elsewhere, including a book and additional Blu-ray, and the score on vinyl, all in a custom box.
Without further ado, here's the video, which can also be seen on Brain Damage UK's new Vimeo Channel:
We recently ran a competition to win one of two copies of Roger Waters The Wall on Blu-ray. The competition ended last night, and the lucky winners were selected this morning. Our congratulations go to the following: Terje Aukland, from Norway, and Ron Scott, from California, USA. Well done both of you, and better luck next time for everyone else who entered. We've got another competition along shortly with more great prizes, so don't despair!
If you weren't one of the lucky winners, or if you were but also fancy one of the other editions, you can place your order for the various standard editions through the following direct links:
As you'll have noticed, not all the Blu-ray editions are currently available from all the Amazon stores. However, they will all ship items internationally, so if your chosen store doesn't have what you are after, consider using an alternative. For the audio side of things, if you prefer things digital, orders can be placed via this iTunes direct link.
