The film Dybbuk B'sde Hatapuchim Hakdoshim, Ha (or, The Dybbuk Of The Holy Apple Field when translated from Hebrew) is finally getting a Region 2 DVD release (in Israel only) later this year.
The 1998 film, at $3 million the biggest production in the history of Israeli cinema, won many awards at various film festivals, but more importantly features a soundtrack by Roger Waters and Rick Wentworth. Roger's contribution is the cover of Dylan's "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" (which also appears on his 'Flickering Flame' compilation), whilst Rick, who is collaborating with Roger on his opera Ca Ira, provides incidental music during the film.
The brief synopsis runs thus: "A modern version of the classic Jewish legend of "Dybbuk" set in present day Jerusalem. A story about the union of the soul and the divine, and the resulting power of love to overcome all obstacles."
