Brain Damage and A Fleeting Glimpse

Pink Floyd 1987WELCOME TO THE 26th YEAR OF BRAIN DAMAGE, YOUR PINK FLOYD, DAVID GILMOUR, NICK MASON, SYD BARRETT, RICHARD WRIGHT AND ROGER WATERS NEWS RESOURCE!

A very happy 2025 to you all - and let's hope that there's some interesting Pink Floyd-related activity on the horizon. This year sees the 50th anniversary of Wish You Were Here, which is an incredible thought; where does the time go?!

David Gilmour's superb new album, Luck and Strange, has now been released in a variety of formats, and a selection of coloured vinyls. A limited number of concert dates were announced, and these have thrilled crowds in Brighton and London, England, Rome, Italy, and Los Angeles and New York, USA - see all the confirmed and now completed David Gilmour concert dates here. We're eager for your views on each of the shows, and really welcome comments, reviews, pictures or anything else you'd be willing to share with the Floyd community - [email protected] is the address to use - thank you!

The Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets 2024 Set The Controls tour revealed a band in even better form than the 2022/23 shows which managed to exceed everyone's hopes and expectations! Our sincerest hopes are that they continue. Don't forget that there's the live recording from London's Roundhouse on Blu-ray, DVD/2CD, and 2LP which is really excellent.

Finally, Roger Waters read three extracts from his memoirs in October 2023 at the London Palladium, so it might not be too long before that is published...he's also working on his new album based around The Bar - we'll let you know as soon as we get all the info!

HOW TO HELP THE SITE: If you want to contribute anything - such as concert reviews, articles or pictures - we'd love to hear from you; please email us.

Some of you were fortunate enough to be at Roger Waters' world premiere live performance of Ca Ira, in Rome in mid-November. Those that were, or those who read our concert review and looked at our gallery of pictures, will have been struck by the wonderful imagery that was projected onto the screen behind the black-clad orchestra.

and looked at our Some of you were fortunate enough to be at Roger Waters' world premiere live performance of Ca Ira, in Rome in mid-November. Those that were, or those who read our concert reviewgallery of pictures, will have been struck by the wonderful imagery that was projected onto the screen behind the black-clad orchestra.

The images were created by photographer Mark Holthusen, who was hired by Roger and Sony BMG Music a mere month before the show, to substitute traditional set design with projected photographic illustrations.

The screen featured over 120 images from the many taken by Mark. From concept to final production, the entire body of work was produced in a breath-taking 40 days! His striking and quite unique style brought the story to life at the concert, being the sole visual narration.

To showcase his work for the project, Mark has created a stylish website, packed with a sample of his images for Ca Ira, along with some video footage, showing images from the concert. There are even some special wallpapers that have been created for the site, which can be downloaded.

The eagle-eyed amongst you will recognise some of the "in-concert" shots as being those taken by us at Brain Damage. Mark approached us to use these, as this was the one element he was missing from his body of work.

To visit his website, either click on the pictures to the right, or visit www.MarkHolthusen.com/caira/. The images on the site can be viewed as a slideshow, with Roger's music playing. It gives a good impression of what the audience in Rome experienced back in November.
