With the Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival celebrating their silver anniversary this year (25 years), a wide and varied bill has been arranged to mark the event. The series of concerts kick off on Wednesday, July 23rd, and presents some 13 concerts over a four-week period.

Marya Martin, the festival’s founding artistic director, has arranged a special show that BD visitors should be interested in! On August 10th, Stravinsky’s “The Soldier's Tale” will be played with a roster of artists that includes none other than Roger Waters. In this piece, the second half of the concert, Roger will take the narrator’s part as well as that of the Devil and the Soldier.

church“We put [Roger's name] quietly in [the festival programme] but he is huge,” said Ms. Martin with a conspiratorial smile. Roger last took part in the Festival back on August 7th, 2004, performing some selections from Ca Ira. The venue for Roger's 2008 return is the same - Bridgehampton's Presbyterian Church [see right; BD's Elliot Tayman attending in 2004].

Ticket prices are $30 while they last. They can be ordered by contacting the festival at (631) 537-6368 or by visiting www.bcmf.org.
