Last night, the situation regarding the proposed performance of an excerpt of Ca Ira as part of the
Maltese celebrations, changed a little. Our friend Phil received an update via email, telling him that whilst Roger Waters should be attending the event, the excerpt of Ca Ira will NOT be a live one; a
recording will be played to accompany a visual spectacular in the midnight sky by Gert Hof, who famously transformed Red Square in Moscow into a sea of lights and lasers (September 2003), and Ross Ashton, who wrapped Buckingham Palace in projections for the Queen's Golden Jubilee celebrations, and also did Roger's backdrop visuals on the 1999 and 2000 In The Flesh tours. We have contacted Mark Fenwick, Roger's manager, and hope to have clarification/confirmation on this soon.
