live earth india logoUPDATE, November 29th: Due to the terrible events currently being seen in Mumbai, the event has officially been cancelled. Ticket refunds will be offered from next week; check www.LiveEarth.org for more details.

Roger Waters and Jon Bon Jovi are amongst the headliners at Live Earth India, being held in Mumbai on December 7th, it was announced today. They will be among other global superstars who join Bollywood stars led by Amitabh Bachchan to perform at the concert.

Live Earth India, being held at the Andheri sports complex, will highlight personal and policy solutions to climate crisis, and offer support for India's important environmental issues. The event's founder, former US Vice President Al Gore, will also be on hand to talk about climate issues. Tickets for the show are now on sale.

Money raised from this year's concert will be donated to Climate Project India to help fund their educational programs and renewable energy projects. Money will also go to TERI's Light a Billion Lives campaign which provides solar lighting to rural homes without electricity.

Live Earth India will reach millions of viewers worldwide on three of STAR’s highly popular channels across Asia and beyond: STAR PLUS in India; STAR WORLD in South East Asia, Hong Kong and India; and CHANNEL [V] in India. STAR reaches 300 million viewers across 53 countries in Asia and beyond. BIG 92.7 FM, the No.1 FM radio station in India, with its presence in 45 markets has committed to promote and broadcast the concert across the country, reaching 200 million people nationwide.

Online music fans worldwide will be able to experience Live Earth India on MSN at www.msnindia.com/liveearth. A longstanding partner of Live Earth, MSN was recognized as the "most-watched online entertainment event in history," after the 2007 concerts.
