Rod Stewart SessionsWhilst not normally the subject of a story on Brain Damage, the upcoming Rod Stewart release does sound interesting. "The Rod Stewart Sessions 1971-1998", which is released in the US on September 22nd, 2009, takes a deep delve into the vaults that results in a boxed set of unreleased recordings.

Spanning more than 25 years, the collection's 63 songs, outtakes, and ephemera provide extraordinary insight into the studio work of one of rock’s legendary figures. Many of these performances are more stripped-down and works-in-progress versions of songs so that the set becomes an illustration and showcase for Rod’s creative process. Few major artists have allowed such a look behind the scenes.

Of particular interest to us is the final disc in the set. One of six songs recorded in the summer of 1992 is a remake of the 1969 Python Lee Jackson song (originally also sung by Rod) "In A Broken Dream", which features David Gilmour and Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones.

Preorders are now being taken by: Amazon US/International, Amazon UK, Amazon Canada, Amazon Germany, or Amazon France. Amazon.com are offering it as a domestic product, the rest as imports only currently.
