RockarchiveThis afternoon (November 5th), Rockarchive, the collective of photographers who specialise in music portraits and live shots, announced the birth of The Print Bank, a charitable trust.

The esteemed Rockarchive photographers, including the award-winning Jill Furmanovsky (a familiar name to most Pink Floyd fans) have donated for auction 30 of their finest prints, to the charitable trust. All 30 images are signed by the artists in the picture as well as the photographers, and include members of the Floyd, The Who, Led Zeppelin, The Police, Noel Gallagher and Oasis, Kate Bush, Brian Wilson, Madness, George Martin, Lenny Kravitz, Amy Winehouse, Bryan Ferry, Nile Rodgers, Chrissie Hynde, and many others.

On the Floyd front, the images include a lovely shot of David Gilmour and the late Storm Thorgerson during the 1974 tour, with David sitting on a monitor speaker tuning up, and Storm at his feet. This is signed by David and Storm. There's also the WYWH Red Veil shot, again signed by Storm; a shot of Nick Mason in action on the 1974 tour, signed by Nick; a shot of Jill by Nick, and signed by both; and finally, Jill's iconic shot of David's Comfortably Numb solo atop the wall at the Nassau Coliseum in February 1980, signed by David.

Beneficiaries of the first auction will be The Teenage Cancer Trust, Shelter, Shooting Stars Hospice, and St. James Place Foundation. These images can be seen by all for just five days, from today, at the Olympus Image Space Gallery and will be auctioned in their entirety in early 2015.

The Olympus Image Space Gallery can be found just around the corner from London's Liverpool Street station, at 199 Bishopsgate (the Primrose Street entrance). You can also see the images online at theprintbank.com, where you can post an online bid now.
