As we reported in January, Sony France have, on February 16th, released a new edition of The Wall DVD - the "Édition Luxe".
The information we had at the time was almost 100% correct - now with clarification from Sony, we can confirm that the DVD does indeed have a full screen (4:3 or 1.33:1) format picture (the original DVD has an anamorphic widescreen picture). The DTS soundtrack has been left off (these tend to take up more space on the disc than normal 5.1 soundtracks), and is in the English language, with English, French, Japanese, Italian and Spanish subtitles.
The edition, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the album, comes in the black slipcase shown to the
right, and also includes a poster nestling inside the packaging. All the extras found on the regular
version of DVD are unchanged (the fascinating commentary from Roger and Gerald Scarfe, the Retrospective, etc.). One for the collectors out there, it is available from Amazon in France (who ship internationally).
