Brain Damage and A Fleeting Glimpse

Pink Floyd 1987WELCOME TO THE 25th YEAR OF BRAIN DAMAGE, YOUR PINK FLOYD, DAVID GILMOUR, NICK MASON, AND ROGER WATERS NEWS RESOURCE!

David Gilmour's superb new album, Luck and Strange, has now been released in a variety of formats, and a selection of coloured vinyls. A limited number of concert dates were announced, and these have now begun, thrilling crowds in Brighton, England and Rome, Italy - see all the confirmed David Gilmour concert dates here. We're also eager for your views on each of the shows, and really welcome comments, reviews, pictures or anything else you'd be willing to share with the Floyd community - [email protected] is the address to use - thank you!

Sadly, the European dates for the Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets 2024 Set The Controls tour have come to their end. The gigs revealed a band in even better form than the 2022/23 shows which managed to exceed everyone's hopes and expectations! Our sincerest hopes are that they continue. Don't forget that there's the live recording from London's Roundhouse on Blu-ray, DVD/2CD, and 2LP which is really excellent.

Finally, Roger Waters read three extracts from his memoirs in October 2023 at the London Palladium, so it might not be too long before that is published...he's also working on his new album based around The Bar - we'll let you know as soon as we get all the info!

Pink Floyd - The Early Years 1965-1972 box set

Yesterday's announcement of Pink Floyd - The Early Years 1965-1972, the 28-disc box set, and the 2CD highlights package, The Early Years - Cre/ation, had the sort of reaction that we were expecting!

The extensive track listing of the box set, which can be seen in full here, has had many of you poring over the fine detail of what has been unearthed, and included. It is not just the Floyd's vaults which have been plundered for goodies; the box set includes every last bit of band performance that the BBC still have in their vaults, and much work over the course of the last few years has also been undertaken getting hold of video and film from multiple sources around the world. As with any such material, plenty of expertise was required getting everything in a suitable condition for release. Some of the material will be familiar to some of you, but the box set should provide things in better quality than ever seen or heard before.

We've had quite a number of emails and other enquiries about the release, but the main question concerns the video material. This has been inspired by the big differences in price between retailers. We have had it confirmed that the Blu-ray discs are not region locked, and there is no region coding on the DVDs, which are in NTSC format. The video material will therefore work in machines across the world, which is hopefully good news for many of you, and therefore we suggest you place your order from the cheapest retailer.

ORDERING INFORMATION:
You can now place your orders for the box set and/or the 2CD highlights collection through these direct links:

THE EARLY YEARS 1965-1972, 28 disc box set:  Amazon.com  Amazon UK  Canada  Germany  France  Italy  Spain
CRE/ATION, 2 disc highlights set:  Amazon.com  Amazon UK  Canada  Germany  France  Italy  Spain

It is REALLY worth checking the other Amazon stores, rather than just your local one, as pricing varies hugely; at time of writing, Amazon UK and Italy are both around the cheapest, and they will ship internationally (international sales might be subject to import duty). Amazon also offer their preorder price guarantee - if the price they offer an item for drops at any point between when you place your order, and the release date, they will automatically charge you the lowest price. Buying through our links will give a small but vital contribution toward all the costs in running this site, and is much appreciated.

One final thing: the official PF store has started releasing some special products relating to the box set - t-shirts and mugs, for example - and the range of their wares on offer can be seen through this link.
