We have been contacted by the bfi (british film institute) today, with news that they are releasing Barbet Schroeder's 1969 film, "More", for the first time on DVD in the UK on July 28th.
Famous for its subdued, moody Pink Floyd soundtrack, featuring songs like Green Is The Colour, Cymbaline, and The Nile Song, the film is based on a true story. The tale follows the naive Stefan in his pursuit of "offbeat" American Estelle to the island paradise of Ibiza. He leads a seemingly idyllic life with her by the sea, before succumbing to the destructive trappings of heroin addiction.
The DVD includes the original trailer, film poster, and a biography and interview with Barbet Schroeder, and a review of this will be on this site shortly.
With thanks to the bfi, we will also be running a competition to tie in with this release shortly - watch this space!
We will let you know if it is being released internationally - we've asked the bfi to confirm dates (if any) for other regions. In the meantime, it can also be ordered via our links to Amazon.
