Brain Damage and A Fleeting Glimpse

Pink Floyd 1967WELCOME TO THE 25th YEAR OF BRAIN DAMAGE, YOUR PINK FLOYD, NICK MASON, DAVID GILMOUR AND ROGER WATERS NEWS RESOURCE!

Last year was busy, with things such as the deluxe box set marking the 50th anniversary of The Dark Side Of The Moon, with a new remaster of the album, coupled with a number of other things including books and the Wembley 1974 TDSOTM recording. Some of the elements (including the official book) have also been released separately - full details here. There's also the extremely lovely limited edition, UV printed crystal clear 2LP vinyl edition of TDSOTM...

A long hoped for reissue of Richard Wright's Wet Dream, remixed by Steven Wilson with a new stereo AND surround mix, is out now, and absolutely superb, really bringing a forgotten gem back to life and it sounds better than ever. Also, the Atmos mix of Pink Floyd's Animals is now out and sounds incredible!

The UK and European dates for the Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets 2024 Set The Controls tour have started, after the 2022/23 shows managed to exceed everyone's hopes and expectations! In the meantime don't forget that there's the live recording from London's Roundhouse on Blu-ray, DVD/2CD, and 2LP which is really excellent.

David Gilmour's new album, Luck and Strange, has now been announced and is being released on September 6th in a variety of formats, and a selection of coloured vinyls. A limited number of concert dates have also been announced - see all the confirmed David Gilmour concert dates here!

Finally, Roger Waters read three extracts from his memoirs in October 2023 at the London Palladium, so it might not be too long before that is published...we'll let you know as soon as we get all the info!

Pink Floyd Records

On June 3rd, 2016, the newly named Pink Floyd Records will begin the reintroduction of the band's catalogue on vinyl for the first time in over two decades. Released on that date will be the first four albums - 'The Piper at the Gates of Dawn', 'A Saucerful of Secrets', the 'More' soundtrack, and the 2LP, half-studio, half-live 'Ummagumma'.

Special care has been taken to replicate the original packaging. The first batch of releases, mastered by James Guthrie, Joel Plante and Bernie Grundman will be pressed on 180gram vinyl for optimum sound quality. Pink Floyd Records releases will be manufactured and distributed by Warner Music for the UK and Europe and by Sony Music for North America and the rest of the world.

The rest of the vinyl catalogue will follow throughout the year, with release dates being announced "at regular intervals". Naturally, as we get further release dates we will let you know.

The heads of the record companies are clearly very pleased to have been chosen for the manufacture and distribution of these important releases. Max Lousada, Chairman and CEO Warner Music UK said: "We're proud to continue to support one of the world's greatest and most influential bands. This is an exciting new chapter in our long-standing partnership with Pink Floyd and we look forward to working with them to help curate their remarkable body of work." His words were echoed by Rob Stringer, Chairman and CEO Columbia Records, who said: "We are proud to continue the long standing relationship in North America and beyond between Columbia Records and Pink Floyd. We are excited to work together with the band on their incredible musical legacy."

Full ordering details should be with us shortly - which we will add here for your convenience.
