With the end of the year just a couple of days away, we've got a bunch of small, Pink Floyd-related updates and news items for you.

David Gilmour, Earls Court 1973

The DVD will appear shortly before their next tribute - a reggae version of Radiohead's OK Computer! We're keen to hear this, as it is an intriguing proposition. Their take on the Floyd's 1973 album we thought was an "ambitious, authentic and even amusing reinvention", and we're sure that the love and respect they showed Dark Side will be similarly shown to OK Computer.

"Radiodread" is scheduled for a September 2006 worldwide release, following the live DVD of the Dub Side show that is in the final stages of production. That DVD was filmed at the State Theatre in Falls Church, Virginia, in September 2005. It will include animation, backstage footage, and bonus songs from the band's original set.

You can't have failed to have noticed the nice picture of David Gilmour in action, at Earls Court in 1973, to the right of this news story. It is from a new set of pictures that Nigel Bradder has let us use on the site, to give you all a flavour of his first Pink Floyd concert!

The set of pictures, that can be seen through this link, were taken by Nigel from his position close to the edge of the stage. You can also see the front cover of his programme, signed by Roger Waters. Nigel recalled that once the show had finished, he spotted that Roger had come back out and was loitering at the side of the stage, on the arena floor. He hurried over and got Roger to autograph his programme, which Roger was happy to do.

Whilst in a nostalgic mood, our friend George Manney has been back in contact. Some of you will recall some of his past pictoral contributions to this site - including rare ticket stubs, pictures, and even a scan of an early contract the band had for a show!

George has transferred some footage he shot at a concert in Philadelphia in 1970, and converted it into a Quicktime file that he wanted to share with you all. It lasts a frustratingly brief 20 seconds, isn't brilliant quality, and is small in size, but it shows tantalising glimpses of the band in action - Roger banging his gong, Nick on his drums, David on guitar...it looks like they were running through Careful With That Axe, Eugene at the time George shot his film. It's a real shame there isn't more footage but nevertheless, George wanted to share what there was.

Finally, the well-respected Floyd tribute band, Which One’s Pink?, aim to blow away the Christmas pud and get your New Year going with a show in Anaheim, California, on Saturday, January 7th.

Performing Dark Side Of The Moon in its entirety as the first half, with a second half being a full set of Floyd classics, the band will be hitting the stage at 10pm at the large Grove Theatre. The venue features state of the art sound and lighting, with large video screens to enhance the stage visuals. Tickets can be bought from the venue on the night, or in advance from Ticketmaster.

The band have promised some new songs that they've been working on, and will augment their line-up with the El Camino Kid’s Choir! Opening the show at 8:30 p.m. will be “Queen Nation” – a tribute to Freddie Mercury and Queen.
