Firstly, Fox News reports that Roger Waters attended the premiere of a new film - director Noah Baumbach's curiously titled "The Squid and the Whale," which opens in the US on October 5th after being a favourite at the Sundance Film Festival this year.

The semi-autobiographical take on divorce stars Jeff Daniels and Laura Linney as the parting couple. Roger's "Hey You" from The Wall features prominently in the movie, and he was one of the attendees at the post-New York Film Festival screening party, held at the Museum of Natural History on Monday. There are a handful of pictures of Roger at the event, to be found over at Getty Images.

Still on the subject of The Wall, Roger's Berlin concert gets an airing on German TV channel 3sat, next Monday 3rd October, at 3:15pm. The whole show, filmed at Potsdamer Platz, will be broadcast at this rather strange mid-afternoon slot. Our thanks to Michael Nickel for letting us know. Hopefully, for those few German fans who haven't already seen it, it will prove an interesting watch.

A good friend of this site, The Doctor had a long-running radio show, entitled (purely coincidentally) Brain Damage. That has ceased airing but The Doctor did not let this deter him - his show can now be heard easily, worldwide, via the downloadable "podcasts" that can be found on his site. We've just been listening to the first of these shows, and it is a fascinating collection of various soundboard recordings of the band over the years. Definitely one to check out - over at www.thedoctor.cc.

10 piece Danish tribute band The Pink Floyd Project has a growing reputation. So much so, that news of the band has reached the chilly shores of Greenland, and the band have been invited to play two shows there on September 30th and October 1st. The band’s trip from the cobblestones of Copenhagen to the Inuit inland ice should be an interesting experience for both parties. "It’s a crazy thought taking our show to a place like Greenland," the band said, adding: "On the other side: When an Inuit artist like Angu comes to Denmark with a bag of Americana, we guess it’s just as valid to go to Greenland with a great set of classic British rock in our trunks."

Neither ”The Thin Ice” nor ”Terminal Frost” will be on the arctic set list, but The Pink Floyd Project promises a three hour trip across the Floyd Universe; a musical galaxy that still inhabits three generations of Floyd fans. “Our audience counts everybody from 14 year old kids to senior citizens and just about everything in between. It really speaks volumes about the music’s longevity and enduring appeal,” the band said. The set list consists of all the material from Wish You Were and Dark Side Of The Moon plus Echoes and a handful of key songs off The Wall.
