The latest issue (cover date July 2004) of the UK's long running magazine Record Collector, features Pink Floyd on the cover, and in a number of places within the magazine. The issue takes a good look at the psychedelic sixties, with a number of features focusing on different aspects of the time.
"See Emily Play" gets their vote as one of the "20 singles that blew our minds", with a nice full page article that includes a publicity shot from their EMI signing session, a pristine picture sleeve for the single, and a segment of the NME review of the single from June 1967.
The Floyd also crop up on the magazine's "Most Wanted" pages, with a wonderful full colour "Point Me To The Sky" (yes, you read that correctly!) sleeve - the German release featured this spelling mistake, as did the Japanese issue. And again they appear, on the news page, with a number of small news items, all of which have been on this site already, but are shown with a nice early 70's publicity shot.
Finally, there is also a feature on the legendary poster designers Hapshash & The Coloured Coat, with some fine examples reproduced in the magazine, some of which are promoting early Pink Floyd shows.
The magazine is in UK stores now, and should be in selected worldwide stores soon.
