Pink Floyd feature in a new poll, looking at the "100 Greatest British Albums", published in the Observer Music Monthly magazine, which comes with today's issue of the UK newspaper.
As with all such polls, many people will debate the results at length - whenever you have subjective
choices personal favourites will always be overlooked for overhyped, so-called "classics"! Pink Floyd appear at number 25, with Piper At The Gates Of Dawn, and appearing at number 63 is Dark Side Of The Moon (surely should have been higher than that?!). Robert Wyatt's Rock Bottom appears at number 36, and of course, was produced by Nick Mason.
The top five albums, according to the poll, are:
The Stone Roses: The Stone Roses
The Beatles: Revolver
The Clash: London Calling
Van Morrison: Astral Weeks
The Beatles: Sgt Pepper's...
The poll was compiled from the votes of 100 leading music industry figures and some of the greatest stars the UK has ever produced, and the complete run-down can be viewed at the Observer website.
