Further to our news about Nick Mason's appearance in New York this week (most recently, yesterday), we have a selection of additional pictures, and information about the event - and that unexpected appearance by Roger Waters!
Roger, who has a home in New York's Hampton's area, went for a meal with Nick following the book signing duties at Barnes & Noble. Nick confirmed this in his interview on the syndicated "Rockline" radio show.
When Brain Damage's Elliot Tayman bumped into Roger, after leaving B&N, he asked Roger about The Wall coming to Broadway. He told Elliot that he's actively writing the stage script and hopes to open the play in a year or so. We've now had a selection of pictures from Linda Heath, who was with Elliot at the time - and took the picture of Waters shown above.
After Roger permitted Linda to take the shot of him, she showed him what Nick had signed in her copy of the book (shown below) - which made him chuckle!
Earlier on, in the Q&A session, Linda had the opportunity to ask two questions of Nick. The first related to the rumour that David Gilmour's new solo album may turn into a Floyd album. Nick said that he'd heard the same thing, but that he had not yet been approached by anyone to play on David's album. So, not out of the question, just not happening yet.
She also asked about Clare Torry's court case. With the case settled out of court in her favour, Linda asked if this meant she got a song writing credit. He said that as far as he knew, that part of it was still not settled. "So evidently she got money, but so far no credit".
Our thanks to Linda Heath for the additional pictures, and the information.
