Beautiful spring weather greeted Nick Mason yesterday as he took his Ferrari 512 to a track test at Cadwell Park in the East Midlands of the UK (as mentioned here).
Nick flew to the circuit from London at the controls of his custom painted Squirrel helicopter, and was soon to be seen hurtling around the track at 150mph (240km/h) as part of event, organised by Octane Magazine, 911 and Porsche World, to be featured in these publications soon. As and when we know more about the publication date(s) we will let you know.
His Ferrari was in a comparison drive with a £2.4m Porsche 917, and you can hear Nick's own thoughts about the day, and the future of Pink Floyd, in the 4 minute video report that the Grimsby Telegraph have on their website this afternoon - just click the thumbnail to the left...
UPDATE: Massive Floyd fan, and BD visitor, Alan Tuplin, had the opportunity of interviewing Nick for the Market Rasen Mail, and his report - with pictures - can be read through this link. In his chat with Nick, Mason talked of his love of cars over the years, how he doesn't worry about their perceived monetary value, and touched on his life in Pink Floyd.
