Nick Mason's "Inside Out - A Personal History Of Pink Floyd" is now available in the US, and he arrived back in the UK on Friday after an exhaustive round of interviews and book signings across the country. We've got an update on a couple of interviews which were recorded but have not been aired yet.
Firstly, the interview that was scheduled to be aired today on WNYC radio - the Leonard Lopate show - has been postponed until Wednesday 27th, at 12 noon EST. The interview will be streamed live via the WNYC website and will be available later to listen to on demand.
More specifically for New Yorkers now, make sure you tune in to television station NY1 during May (once we know the exact day and time, we'll let you know). Nick recorded an interview for them on April 19th, as part of his time in the city. Jay Lieberman, Executive Producer of Entertainment for New York 1, is a past contributor to Brain Damage magazine (and his review of one of the 1994 shows is found here on this site), and has given us an update on this show.
The interview is currently due for airing in the second week of May. Jay told us that the interview went really well, and Nick couldn't have been nicer! He discussed the making of the book, playing live, details of the recording of each and every album, his reconciliation with Roger, why "The Wall" will work on Broadway, the pros and cons of being inducted into the Rock and Rock Hall of Fame, and what the future holds.
He was also asked if they were to go on the road again, would "Animals" material make the setlist. He answered... oh, well, you'll have to tune in to find out!
We'll have a full report of this interview once it has aired. Our thanks to Jay (and to Elliot Tayman) for all the info on this.
